Welcome to the 9th East African AA Convention, the ninth edition of the rotational convention hosted by the Alcoholics Anonymous Fellowships of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. This regional gathering brings together AA members from across East Africa and around the world to strengthen recovery, foster unity, promote service, and share experience, strength, and hope.
The 2026 Convention is proudly hosted by Alcoholics Anonymous Uganda and will take place from 13th to 15th November 2026 at the Crested Crane Hotel, Jinja, Uganda.
Under the theme “Living in the Solution,” participants will enjoy three days of inspiring speakers, recovery workshops, fellowship, spiritual growth, and service. Whether you are attending your first convention or have many years in recovery, this gathering offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the AA programme, renew friendships, and experience the strength and unity of the Fellowship.
Located along the banks of the River Nile, Jinja provides a peaceful and welcoming setting for this special gathering, making it an ideal place for reflection, fellowship, and recovery.
Prior to the convention, community outreach and pre-convention activities will take place on 11th and 12th November 2026, providing opportunities to engage with local communities, raise awareness about Alcoholics Anonymous, and carry the message of hope and recovery to those who may still be suffering.

Under the theme “Living in the Solution,” members from across East Africa and beyond will come together for three days of inspiring speakers, recovery workshops, service discussions, fellowship, and celebration of sobriety. The convention provides an opportunity for newcomers and long-time members alike to deepen their understanding of the AA programme, strengthen their recovery journey, build meaningful connections, and experience the power of fellowship.
About the Theme
Recovery is more than simply stopping drinking. Living in the Solution means applying the principles of the Twelve Steps in our daily lives, developing spiritual growth, building healthy relationships, serving others, and continuing to experience the promises of recovery. Through fellowship, sharing, and service, this convention will explore practical ways of living the AA programme one day at a time.

Who can attend the convention?
The convention welcomes AA members from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, East Africa, and beyond.
Can newcomers attend?
Yes. Newcomers are warmly welcomed. A dedicated Beginners Meeting will be available for members with less than one year of sobriety.
What does registration include?
Registration includes access to all three days of convention sessions and refreshments provided during convention sessions.
Are meals included in registration?
Lunch and the Saturday Night Barbecue are separate packages and can be purchased during registration.

Are accommodation and transport included?
No. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own travel, accommodation, meals, and personal expenses, Some recommended hotels have been added;

Please Note that the Hotel has given a Deadline as to when all Convention related payments should have been fully cleared. We shall not be receiving any payments for Convention Registration, Meals or Barbeque bookings beyond 10th November 2026 to enable smooth planning.
